The county agency is responsible for receiving and investigating reports of child abuse. Services performed by a caseworker are designed to investigate allegations of abuse of children. Direct case management of cases being investigated by the county agency includes the following services: protecting the safety of the subject child and other children in their home or facility, when possible; providing or arranging appropriate services when necessary during the investigation period and determination of the status of reports of suspected child abuse.
