Services performed by a caseworker are designed to provide practical education and training, to promote bonding, to raise children in nurturing and safe homes from the first trimester of pregnancy until age 3. This is done through information, education and emotional support for pregnant teens and parents regarding expectations during pregnancy, preparation for childbirth, child development, parent-child relationships, the responsibilities of parenthood, and care of the child. The workers complete safety, risk, and developmental assessments, develop service plans, conduct home visits, document and maintain case files, attend medical appointments, and mentor appropriate parenting techniques.
